New Year's Day 2023

The New Year's running day brought out most of the post war fleet as well as two visiting vehicles, SMT DSG 169 and London Transport NLE 627.

King Alfred Fleet

Pre War and Minibus

The only vehicle that can usually be found on the town loop services was Bedford BHO 543C.

Single Deckers

the only single decker not at this running day was Leyland Panther UOU 417H.

This left Leyland Panther UOU 419H, Leyland Olympic JAA 708 and Leyland Tiger Cub WCG 104.

Double Deckers

As usual for the New Year's Day running day, Leyland Atlantean HOR 590E was not present as its open top deck is not suitable for the colder weather. This left HOR 592E to represent the Atlanteans.

Both AEC Renowns were out, 595 LCG representing the King Alfred Motor Services livery and 596 LCG representing the National Bus Company red.

Finally, Leyland Titan POU 494 was also out at this running day.

Coaches

Neither coach, 326 CAA or CCG 704C, were out for this running day, although this is not surprising due to the lack of longer routes on the mini running day.

Visiting Buses

S.M.T. DSG 169

While originally from Scotland, DSG 169 is owned by Quantock Motor Services in Somerset. It has previously been painted in a blue livery but now carries this green livery.

London Transport NLE 627

NLE 627 was London Transport's RF627 and is one of many preserved examples of the predominant single decker bus in London from the 1950's and 60's.
